Prof. Jacek Szczytko [Yatzek Shtchitko] completed his PhD in spintronics before undertaking postdoctoral research in ultrafast spectroscopy of excitons at EPFL, Switzerland, returning to the University of Warsaw in 2005. He co-founded the Polariton Laboratory in the Faculty of Physics from 2010 with Barbara Piętka. In 2016, he initiated a collaboration with the Military University of Technology in Warsaw, focusing on birefringent liquid crystal microcavities. He also established the Nanoengineering studies program at the Faculty of Physics.
