Faculty of Physics, University of Warsaw
Prof. Jan Suffczyński received his Ph.D. in Experimental Physics from the University of Warsaw in 2007. His doctoral thesis dealt with single-photon emission and excitation mechanisms of a quantum dot. He then spent two years as a postdoctoral researcher at the Laboratoire de Photonique et de Nanostructures (CNRS) in France. After returning to the University of Warsaw, he worked as an Investigator in the ERC Advanced Grant “Functionalisation of Diluted Magnetic Semiconductors” and as a Principal Investigator in projects funded by the Polish National Research Centre related to light-matter interaction. His current scientific interests focus on subwavelength photonic structures and layered magnetic semiconductors. He is an associate editor of the journal Quantum Science and Technology.
